 The Matthew 28 Church

Great Commission church planting training

Plan, Plant Go & Grow Tract

Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age. - Matthew 28:19-20

Planting a church is a challenging task and our desire is to assist and support church planters through the leadership of the Holy Spirit and assisting church planters to have great success. When Nehemiah was getting ready to rebuild the wall, he prayed and asked God for success; Nehemiah 1:11 (NLT)
11 O Lord, please hear my prayer! Listen to the prayers of those of us who delight in honoring you. Please grant me success today by making the king favorable to me. Put it into his heart to be kind to me.” In those days I was the king’s cup-bearer.

This starts with an application and assessment processes. Once that has been done we will begin the process with church planters through supporting them with coaching, training, and resourcing. We will continually be in prayer with the church planter and his family as well as sharing prayer requests, and build a great leadership team.

Our goal for all church planters is to assist them and their ministry to become healthy established churches. There are four categories that we use to determine healthy churches.

  1. Training and developing godly leaders
  2. Discipling and making disciples
  3. Stewardship & financial responsibility
  4. Emotionally Healthy Leaders

The church planter and his team must be diligent and faithful to the task.

Acts 2:42-47

The Fellowship of the Believers

“And they devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. And awe came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles. And all who believed were together and had all things in common. And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need. And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved.”

The results are up to you and your team. We believe that church planting will be successful with those that feel the call from God, passion for church planting, a motivation and commitment for the long haul. Acts 5:42

“And every day, in the temple and from house to house, they did not cease teaching and preaching that the Christ is Jesus.”
